Karen Helton-Rhodes, DVM, DipACVD
Dr. Helton-Rhodes has practiced as a board certified veterinary dermatologist in the tri-state region since 1982. She was head of the department of dermatology at the Animal Medical Center in New York City for 12 years and actively participated in the training of interns and residents during that time. Dr. Helton-Rhodes also held the position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at New York University Hospital from 1985-1997. This position facilitated active communication and research opportunities in the area of comparative dermatology. She practiced as the staff dermatologist at a multi-specialty hospital in New Jersey, Animal Emergency and Referral Associates/ Veterinary Referral Centre, from 1994 until 2007. March 2007 marks the opening of Riverdale Veterinary Dermatology, owned and operated by Dr. Helton Rhodes. This office is the culmination of years of experience and expertise. Riverdale Veterinary Dermatology offers a unique opportunity by functioning as an adjunct specialty facility for the referring veterinarian to offer to the client/patient.
